My niece (Kindergarten) and nephew (1st grade) helped me create this for my kindegarteners and reviewing all letters. They chose all the pictures to include and eventually completed their own google serches to find the images. I can use this video for either Letter ID or Sound Fluency. I also plan on sharing it with a co-worker who also works with a Letter ID intervention group. I think that because these videos (I have an Only Vowels Animoto in case you missed it!) are short that they are a good way to begin and/ or end each day.
Kelly that is a beautiful Animoto! Besides the great images and light hearted music, I loved, from the teacher's standpoint, that the letters are not shown as the traditional perfect "teacher" or "early" ABC font. When we had to do the Marie Clay concepts about print checklist in our very first class the kindergarten students I worked with were not familiar with the typewriter a or g. By exposing children to different "fancy" font, with your Animoto, they will familiar with letters in multiple fonts and texts.
ReplyDeleteI let my niece and nephew choose all the letters for this Animoto, however, I do purposely choose different font styles on a regular basis so children recognize them!
DeleteGreat Job Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI too like the different pictures of unconventional font. Can I use it? It seems as though it would be a great space filler for my pre-k students during those times when a special teacher is running late or we are five minute early to line up for outside.
You may absolutely use it. I have used themwith my kids for the past few day and they love it!
DeleteGreat job! Love that it is simple and yet you can do so much with it! The pictures are great and so are the different fonts! I bet your kindergarten kids will love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I love it. This would be good for even some students in my class! very creative! Your niece and nephew are very talented ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat way to teach the letters and the varied fonts really expose the students to different options. Nice job!
